Frequently Asked Questions

What is Graze?

Graze is a tool to build, customise and publish your own feeds for Bluesky. Any Bluesky user can create a feed and share it, and anyone can subscribe to it. A feed might be about a topic (local politics in Bristol), a group of people (PGA golfers), or a hashtag (#muppets). Graze makes those feeds easy to build, with no code.

What do I need to get started?

A Bluesky account. Go to the login page, type your Bluesky username (for example you.bsky.social) and click Login. You'll be taken to Bluesky to sign in with your Bluesky password, then sent back to Graze. You never type your Bluesky password into Graze.

If that doesn't work for you, click Log in with App Password Instead and sign in with a Bluesky app password.

Is Graze free?

Yes. Building, publishing and running feeds on Graze costs nothing, and there's no paid plan or subscription. Everything in these docs is free to use, including custom nodes, layers, the Feed Gym and the AI nodes. The Natural Language and Ask a Question nodes have an hourly budget per feed so one feed can't use up shared capacity, but there's no charge for them, and you can ask for a bigger budget on your feed's Rate limits page.

The only money involved is sponsored posts, and only if you choose to use them. Advertisers pay to place posts in feeds (the minimum spend is $25), and feed owners who turn on monetization get 70% of what's spent on their feed. Graze keeps 30% as a platform fee. See Sponsored Posts and the Terms and Conditions.

Feed Pulse is written on co/core using your own co/core account and credits. That's a separate service, not a Graze charge.

I've signed up. What next?

Welcome aboard! Start with Creating Your First Feed and Nodes for Beginners. You can also browse Custom Nodes that other Graze users have shared, which is a quick way to pick up building blocks others have already made. You can edit your feed as much as you like before publishing it to Bluesky, so experiment freely.

I already built a feed somewhere else. Do I have to start from scratch?

No. Click Create a feed on your dashboard and choose Migrate on the "Choose starting point" screen. Your feed keeps its likes and pins. Migrating a Feed walks you through it.

My friend made a Graze feed and I want to use it as a starting point. Can I?

Yes. Ask your friend to make their feed public: the Public switch in the feed's Settings shares how the feed works. Then open the feed's public page on Graze and click Remix to start your own feed from a copy.

My feed isn't working. Where can I get help?

We'd love to help you fix it. Start with Testing and Fixing Your Feed. You can also search the Graze help centre, or ask in our Discord server, where lots of people answer questions. It helps to bring the link to your feed in Graze, and a link to a post that's behaving unexpectedly.

Can I put my feed on my website?

Yes. See Embedding Feeds.

Can I mix different orderings in one feed, or tailor it to each reader?

Yes. See Page Layers and Audiences.

Can I make money from my feed?

Yes, with sponsored posts. See Sponsored Posts to set up your feed so advertisers can run campaigns on it.

Graze doesn't do this cool thing I thought of. Where should I tell you?

We love feature requests. Add them here.

How can I help?

If you solve a problem, find a clever way of doing something, or get stuck on something tricky, tell us in the Discord so we can improve the guides for everyone.
